INFORMATION REGARDING PARISH MASSES RESTARTING

Dear School Community
We have received this information from our Parish regarding restarting of Parish Masses.

Dear Parish
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we try our best to give everyone a chance to attend Mass in this difficult time.

From Monday May 18th, we will be able to have public Masses attended by 10 parishioners at a time (not including altar servers, readers and other volunteers).
Fr Deva has kindly agreed to conduct Masses on most days of the week, including two Masses at St. James Cygnet on Saturday evenings from next week (23rd May) and two Masses at St Mary of the Cross Ranelagh on Sunday mornings from 24th May.
To try to ensure that everyone will be able to attend Mass if they wish, we are trying a booking system where members of the Pastoral Council will try to contact all those who we have phone numbers for and book them in for at least one opportunity to attend Mass this first week. After this week, we ask that you phone either Kathy (0400893267), Louise (0432665705) or Rachel (0417312156) to book a place for the next week if you wish to.
The obligation to attend Sunday Mass has not been reinstated, so if you are concerned for your health (eg elderly, immunocompromised) or if you are feeling unwell in any way please do not attend.
Please use hand sanitiser on the way into the church and sit in the front pews at a distance of 1.5m from others. The pews will be cleaned down after each Mass and Father Deva will be using hand sanitiser immediately before distributing the Eucharist.
When coming forward to receive Holy Communion please form a single line in the aisle and keep a distance of 1.5m between people.
The sacrament of penance will be available after each Mass on request.
There will be a collection at each Mass (not just the weekend ones) so that everyone will have the chance to contribute towards the upkeep of the parish.
Thank you and God bless you
The Pastoral Council of the Huon Valley Catholic Parish (on behalf of Fr Deva)

SACRED HEART STUDENT LEARNING PACKS COMING HOME TOMORROW

Dear Parents/carers,

With quite a number of students not attending school at the moment, our dedicated teachers have put together a wonderful range of interesting and enjoyable learning experiences for your child to work on in the coming weeks. We really appreciate that your child's safety and well-being is you number one priority. We do not expect that all the tasks supplied are completed. Please feel free to use these resources to best support your child at this point in time.

The student packs include learning tasks, books and fun, practical activities covering a range of curriculum areas that will support your child's learning.

How will you receive your child's student pack?

If your child is at school tomorrow, he/she will bring it home with them at the end of the day.

If your child/ren are not at school tomorrow, we will have your child's student pack on their regular afternoon bus run. If you can be at their bus stop (at the normal time), you can collect your child's pack then.

If you would prefer to collect your child's pack from school tomorrow, please give the office a call in the morning.

Finally, all packs that are not distributed tomorrow will be left at the following locations (labelled with your child's name) ready for you to collect from Monday morning.

  • Huonville to Mountain River and surrounding areas - Collect from Duggan's Tyre Service - Main Road Huonville (next to Banjo's)
  • Franklin area - Collect from the Huon News - Huon Highway, Franklin
  • Port Huon to Geeveston - Collect from the Sacred Heart School Office
  • Surges Bay turnoff to Dover - Collect from the Dover Pharmacy - Southgate

We hope that these student packs will support your child's continued learning during these challenging and uncertain times. Thank you in anticipation of your support.

With our very best wishes,

Luch Brighella

SACRED HEART CATHOLIC SCHOOL CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

Dear families,

Over the past few days, we have had a significant number of students away from school. If your child is presenting with a cold or influenza, they should remain at home until they have fully recovered and no longer contagious.

Please continue to support your child with encouraging good hygiene practices, especially with the washing of hands and coughing into their elbow.

Parents and guardians are advised that teachers will not be providing school work for your child to complete at home if you chose to keep your child away from school.

In the event of a school closure, the school will provide learning opportunities for your child to complete while they are at home.

Thank you for your patience, understanding and support during these challenging times. If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate in contacting me.

Yours sincerely

Luch Brighella
