ANZAC DAY at Sacred Heart Catholic School, Geeveston

On Monday, 25 April, approximately 50 students representing Sacred Heart Geeveston attended ANZAC Day services around the Huon Valley, remembering all who went to war to serve and protect Australia and laying wreaths. We also acknowledged all who were affected by war. Whilst these memories are often filled with great sadness, let us pray that one day our world and all its people can live in peace and harmony.
Following the main service at Geeveston, two of our school leaders were very priveliged to be asked to be part of a tree planting ceremony of two Lone Pines that were propagated from a pine cone brought back from Gallipoli in 1915.

We are very grateful to Grade 3 and 4, and their teachers, who organized a special ANZAC Day service at our school on Tuesday when the students returned from holidays, to enable our school community to gather together and also give thanks and rememberance to the ANZAC’s.
